Old Town Square: The One Not to Miss<\/h2>\n

The tree, the Astronomical Clock striking the hour, and a nativity scene with live animals<\/strong> that children reliably refuse to leave. Craftspeople decorate gingerbread and paint ornaments at the stalls, and there is usually something happening on the stage.<\/p>\n

Go before 11:00.<\/strong> After 16:00 the square becomes genuinely difficult with small children or a pushchair.<\/p>\n

Prague Castle: Small Market, Big Setting<\/h2>\n

A modest market near St George’s Basilica inside the Castle grounds, with craft demonstrations and far more space than the Old Town. Worth combining with a Castle visit. It is colder and windier up here, so dress accordingly.<\/p>\n

Peace Square (N\u00e1m\u011bst\u00ed M\u00edru): The Local Favourite<\/h2>\n

In Vinohrady, around 60 stalls in front of St Ludmila Church — smaller, calmer, cheaper, and a short metro ride on line A. This is where Prague parents go. Note the earlier schedule: 20 November – 24 December, 10:00–20:00<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ji\u0159\u00edho z Pod\u011bbrad: Even Quieter<\/h2>\n

A few tram stops further into Vinohrady, with a vintage merry-go-round that keeps small children occupied while the adults eat. Thin crowds, local families, good food stands.<\/p>\n

Ice Rinks, Rides and Practical Fun<\/h2>\n

Several outdoor rinks open across the city from late November, and the markets run small carousels and rides.
