Schlosses<\/h2>\n<p>Veltrusy, einst ein mittelalterliches Dorf in der unteren Moldauebene, war von Feldern und W\u00e4ldern umgeben. Das Gut, Teil der Herrschaft Jevin\u011bves-Veltrusy, wurde 1698 Mitgift der Baronin Maria Theresia von Scheidler. In diesem Jahr heiratete Maria Theresia den Ritter Wenzel Anton Chotek (1674\u20131754). Die Choteks geh\u00f6rten zur alten, aber armen Ritteraristokratie, die nach der Schlacht am Wei\u00dfen Berg von Beschlagnahmungen betroffen war. Wenzel Anton profitierte von dieser Ehe sowohl materiell als auch sozial. Er erlangte den Baronstitel und erhielt 1723 den Grafentitel.
