Life

Metin Feyzioğlu was born on July 7, 1969, in Istanbul’s Kızıltoprak neighborhood to Saide (Feyzioğlu) Buçukoğlu and Mehmet Buçukoğlu. Sadly, his mother passed away two hours after his birth, and he was adopted and raised by his maternal grandparents, Leyla and Turhan Feyzioğlu, in Ankara.

Education and Career

Feyzioğlu graduated from TED Ankara College in 1986 and went on to study law at Ankara University, graduating in 1990. He was admitted to the Ankara Bar Association in 1991. After completing his Master’s degree in Public Law in 1992, he earned his PhD in 1995. In 1996, he joined the Faculty of Law at Ankara University as an assistant professor in criminal law. He earned the title of associate professor in 2002 and became a full professor in 2005. In 2007, Feyzioğlu was appointed Dean of the Ankara University Faculty of Law, a role he held for one year. His tenure as president of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations was marked by efforts to uphold judicial independence and promote legal reforms.

Diplomatic Career and Appointment to Prague

Following a successful tenure as Turkey’s Ambassador to Nicosia, Metin Feyzioğlu was appointed as the Turkish Ambassador to Prague on November 24, 2024, succeeding 埃格曼·巴伊什. Bağış, who had a distinguished and fruitful term as Ambassador to the Czech Republic, passed the torch with high praise for Feyzioğlu, offering him best wishes and success in his new diplomatic mission.

Feyzioğlu’s extensive legal background and experience in international diplomacy position him well to continue fostering strong relations between Turkey and the Czech Republic, further building on the achievements of his predecessor.
