从城堡和城堡的历史来看
The original Gothic castle was founded sometime before 1250 by the lords of Krumlov , one of the branches of the powerful Vítkov family with the coat of arms of a five-leaf rose. In 1302, the lords of Krumlov died and their property was inherited by their relatives, the Rožmberks . Their name and the three centuries of their rule are associated with the period of greatest prosperity of the city and the castle, which during the reign of the Lords of Rožmberk was transformed into a magnificent Renaissance residence.
In the second half of the 16th century, during the reign of Vilém of Rožmberk , the family got heavily in debt and this was also the main reason why they sold the Rožmberk estate with the castle and chateau to Emperor Rudolph II . Emperor Ferdinand II In 1622, Habsburg donated the royal property to Prince Jan Oldřich I of Eggenberg, representatives of the Austrian princely family. It was not until the third generation of the Eggenberg family, thanks to the personality of Prince Jan Kristián I of Eggenberg, that the castle came to life again and became a magnificent and representative Baroque residence. The Eggenbergs died without descendants in 1719, and a new dynasty came to Krumlov – the princely family of the Schwarzenbergs , who owned the castle until 1947, when the Schwarzenberg property, including Český Krumlov, was transferred to Czech land ownership, and after the abolition of the land system, from 1950 it became property of the Czechoslovak state.
In 1963, the historic center was declared a city monument reserve , in 1989 the castle complex was declared a national cultural monument . In 1992, the entire historical complex was inscribed on the prestigious UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List .
