Practical tips

Most castles close from November to March or open weekends only. Always check before travelling.
Buy train tickets on the day — Czech regional trains are cheap and rarely sell out.
Karlštejn and Kutná Hora are busiest at weekends. Go on a weekday if you can.
Český Krumlov deserves a night. Three hours each way makes a day trip rushed.
