October is the most beautiful month in the Prague parks and one of the calmest in the centre. The colour peaks around the middle of the month in Stromovka, Petřín and Letná. Signal Festival turns the streets into light art for four evenings, and 28 October brings a national holiday that opens parts of the Castle. Days are cool and often clear; evenings need a coat.

Photography in October
The richest colour of the year, and a low sun all day that never gets harsh. Golden hour lands around 17:00. For families, mid-October in Stromovka with leaves underfoot is as good as it gets.
