History and Architecture

Rococo Splendor Originally rebuilt in the rococo style during the late 18th century, Dobříš Castle showcases elegant French and English park landscapes. The castle, once owned by the Colloredo-Mannsfeld family, underwent significant renovations post-1998, restoring its architectural gems like the Helium’s Horses Fountain and the baroque tower clock.

New Multimedia Exhibition Immerse yourself in the history of the Colloredo-Mannsfeld family through a state-of-the-art multimedia exhibition. Featuring six salons, historical artifacts, and interactive displays in multiple languages, including Czech, English, and German, this tour offers a deep dive into the castle’s past and cultural heritage.

JCM Gallery Explore the family collection of 18th and 19th-century paintings at the JCM Gallery, showcasing both permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Parks and Gardens

French Park Experience the beauty of the French Park, reminiscent of Viennese Schönbrunn, with its manicured gardens, floral ornaments, and restored structures like the Orangery. Open seasonally, it offers a tranquil retreat and hosts various cultural events.

English Park Covering 30 hectares, the English Park features natural wonders like the Devil’s Bridge and unique ecosystems. Designated a natural monument in 2013, it’s open year-round, providing a serene environment for leisurely walks and wildlife observation.

Water and Forest Exhibition Located in the Orangery, this exhibition educates visitors, especially children, on local water management and forestry. It also houses the Zdenek and Emilie Miler Gallery, featuring educational displays and the beloved character, Mole.
