Dr. Josef Löschner, the Karlovy Vary Museum began as a municipal institution alongside the regional library and archive. It houses extensive collections documenting local crafts, including spa cups and unique Karlovy Vary rocks. Over the years, collections expanded with contributions from local collectors and enthusiasts like Anton Pitroff and Dr. Karel David Becher.

Permanent Exhibitions The museum’s permanent exhibition, located in the former district governor’s office at Nová Louka, traces the region’s history, focusing on the development of the spa industry and natural resources. It includes rare books from the Latin School Library in Jáchymov.
