Na Špičáku Cave stands as one of Central Europe’s oldest documented caves, boasting a labyrinthine network of over 400 meters of corridors and fissures carved into Devonian marbles dating back 350-380 million years.

History and Features of Na Špičáku Cave

Ancient Origins Located between Písečná and Supíkovice, Na Špičáku Cave has a rich history dating to the 15th century, with its walls adorned by epigraphic inscriptions and paintings, the oldest of which dates back to 1519. The cave served as a shelter and was first opened to the public by the Sudeten Mountain Association in 1884–1885.

Renovation and Accessibility Since its expansion and electrification in 1955, the cave has undergone significant renovations, including the installation of pathways and bridges. It offers barrier-free access since 1994, making it accessible to all visitors, including those with disabilities.

Cave Tour Experiences

Fairy Tale Tours Ideal for kindergarten and primary school children, the fairy tale tour introduces young visitors to the cave’s unique features, historical artworks, stalactite formations, and intriguing details about its bat population. The interactive program, guided by friendly goblins, lasts 30 to 40 minutes and requires advance booking.
