History and Restoration

Transformation from Reservoirs to Museum Originally built in 1870 and 1900 to supply water to Brno, the Špilberk reservoirs served their purpose until the early 20th century. After years of neglect, extensive reconstruction took place from 2017 to 2019, revitalizing them into a unique cultural space.

Exhibits and Artifacts

Stone Witnesses of Brno’s History Step into the impressive interiors of the reservoirs to explore a remarkable collection of stone artifacts. Highlights include ancient statues, tombstones from Brno’s closed cemeteries, and architectural ornaments from defunct buildings.
