House of Nature of the Czech Paradise in Dolánky near Turnov

Overview Located in Dolánky near Turnov, the House of Nature of the Czech Paradise serves as the visitor center for the Český raj Protected Landscape Area (PLA), the oldest of its kind in the Czech Republic. It offers an interactive exhibition aimed at showcasing and fostering appreciation for the unique natural phenomena of this region.

Interactive Exhibition The exhibition comprises eight thematic cells, each focusing on different aspects of the Czech Paradise. Visitors engage their senses to explore the meadows’ scents, listen to wildlife sounds, and observe aquatic life in the Czech Paradise pond through an aquarium. Central to the experience is the peregrine falcon, symbolizing the area alongside Trosky Castle.

Facilities

• Ground Floor: Tickets for the exhibition, refreshments, and regional souvenirs are available. Information on exploring the Czech Paradise is provided at the info point.
• Second Floor: A conference room accommodating 50 people equipped with audio-video technology is available for various events, including trainings, seminars, and children’s parties.

Events and Activities Throughout the year, the House of Nature organizes public events such as excursions, lectures, bat nights, Open Doors Day, and seasonal exhibitions, enhancing public engagement with the natural heritage of the Czech Paradise.

Operational Support Operated by the Center for Ecological Education of the Liberec Region, with support from the Nature and Landscape Protection Agency of the Czech Republic, the City of Turnov, and the Liberec Region, alongside participation from Geopark Český raj.
