Designblok is Central Europe’s largest design festival and the one week of the year when Prague’s design scene is visible to visitors. The 28th edition runs 6–11 October 2026 under the theme Light. The 6th is for professionals, with the Designblok Talks conference; the public days are 7–11 October.

What to Expect
Czech design has two strong traditions — glass and furniture — and both are on show. Bohemian glass here is not the souvenir-shop version: expect studio work from Bomma, Rückl, Lasvit and a long tail of independent makers. The furniture side runs from small-batch Czech workshops to full commercial launches.
It is a trade fair and an exhibition at the same time. Prices are on the labels, most makers will ship, and nobody minds if you only look.
Practical Notes
- Tickets are sold per venue and as a festival pass; buy online at designblok.cz to skip the desk. Openstudios are free.
- Two days is realistic for the main venues. One day means the Trade Fair Palace only.
- Weekends are busy. Wednesday and Thursday are noticeably calmer.
- Language. Signage and catalogues are in Czech and English; most exhibitors speak English.
- The Trade Fair Palace is a five-minute tram ride from the centre — trams 6, 12 or 17 to Veletržní palác.
