Altány Kampa is a true gem in the heart of Prague! Situated right by the tranquil Čertovka Stream and surrounded by the lush greenery of Kampa Island, this restaurant offers a serene and picturesque dining experience. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic evening or a relaxed lunch with friends, especially if you grab a table outside and enjoy the soothing sounds of the water.
The menu is a delightful mix of traditional Czech cuisine with a modern twist. I particularly enjoyed the beef goulash—it was hearty and bursting with rich flavors. The use of seasonal ingredients is a nice touch, and you can tell the dishes are thoughtfully prepared. They also have a good selection of local wines, which complement the food nicely.
However, there are a few areas for improvement. The service, while generally friendly, can be a bit slow, especially during peak hours. We waited longer than expected for our main course, which slightly disrupted the otherwise pleasant ambiance. Also, the prices are on the higher side, so it may not be the best choice if you’re dining on a budget.
Overall, I’d highly recommend Altány Kampa for its beautiful location, delicious food, and unique charm. Just be prepared to spend a little extra time (and money) here. A solid four stars!
