Overview
Lesopark Amerika, or Amerika Forest Park, extends around the pond of the same name and directly connects to the Franciscan Spa Parks. This scenic area is easily accessible from the center of Františkové Lázně by a pleasant walk, the popular micro-train, or a short drive.
Amerika Pond and Bird Observatory
The Amerika pond is a large breeding pond within the vast pond system of the Amerika forest park. The islet in the middle serves as a nesting place and migration stop for various water birds. Birdwatchers can spot species such as the laughing gull, black coot, grebe, pied spoonbill, common teal, wagtail, plover, nightingale, as well as ducks, swans, and cormorants. The eastern part of the pond is a recreational area, featuring the Amerika excursion and camping site. The bird observatory, located at the northern edge of the pond, provides excellent views of the water and surrounding area.
