Seven places in central Prague where you get more than a hotel room: kitchenettes, separate bedrooms and space to settle in for a week or longer.
Hotel rooms in Prague’s historic buildings tend to be compact, and eating every meal out adds up over a long stay. An aparthotel or serviced apartment fixes both. You get a living area, often a kitchenette and room to spread out, while someone else usually looks after reception and housekeeping. They suit families, friends sharing a trip and anyone staying long enough to want to buy their own groceries.
All seven below are places we have written about in detail on Prague Hints. They range from a six-apartment family-run house to a four-star residence with a wellness centre, across Staré Město, Nové Město and Malá Strana. We only list facilities the properties themselves describe, and where a kitchen is not confirmed, we say so.

1. Aparthotel Davids
Biskupský dvůr 3 · Nové Město
Aparthotel Davids is a small house of ten rooms and apartments, a short walk from the Powder Tower, the Astronomical Clock and Old Town Square. That size is the point. You get the independence of your own apartment with the personal service of a small hotel, which makes a week of sightseeing feel settled rather than rushed.
You can choose between a simple room for a quick stopover and a more spacious apartment for a longer family stay. We have no confirmation of a kitchen in every unit, so if cooking matters, ask which apartments have one before you pay. It fills up quickly in autumn, so book early.

2. Almandine Boutique Apartments
Rytířská 8 · Staré Město
Almandine Boutique Apartments is a family-run house with just six newly refurbished apartments on a quiet street in the historic centre, a short stroll from both Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. The apartments are designed to make long stays easy, and the spacious layouts work for solo travellers, couples and parents with children.
Pets are welcome, which is unusual this close to Old Town Square, and the small, family-run set-up keeps things personal. Units are described as fully equipped; check the kitchen if you plan to cook most nights. On booking sites it may appear as Apartments Almandine.

3. Appia Hotel Residences
Šporkova 3 · Malá Strana · 4-star
Appia Hotel Residences is the choice if you want an apartment but are not ready to give up hotel comforts. The four-star property in Malá Strana, a short walk from Prague Castle and Charles Bridge, has 22 rooms, suites and apartments with 68 beds between them, an average of three beds per unit. Breakfast is served every day in a historical hall, and there is a lobby bar.
Malá Strana is a lovely base for a week, but the streets around the Castle are steep. Garage parking is available, which helps in a district where spaces are scarce, and booking sites list a sauna for an extra charge. We have no details on kitchens here, so ask which apartments have one.

4. EA Aparthotel Melantrich (formerly EA Hotel Apartments Wenceslas Square)
Václavské náměstí 36 · Nové Město
EA Aparthotel Melantrich sits right on Wenceslas Square in an early 20th-century building, and it has the widest spread of layouts on this list: compact studios with kitchenettes for couples, and multi-room apartments with separate living and sleeping areas. Its current listings show apartments that sleep up to six, which makes it the strongest option here for a large family or a group of friends.
Secure garage parking can be arranged on request, and the staff can book transfers from Václav Havel Airport or the main train station. Pets are not permitted. Wenceslas Square stays busy until late, so light sleepers should ask for a quieter unit. You may still see the old name on some booking sites.

5. Mamaison Residence Downtown Prague
Na Rybníčku 5 · Nové Město (Praha 2) · 4-star
Mamaison Residence Downtown Prague offers three kinds of stay under one roof: hotel rooms, apartments, and studio apartments with kitchenettes. Interiors come in Scandinavian or traditional style, and some units have balconies or terraces looking towards Prague Castle, which you will appreciate more over three weeks than over three nights.
For a long stay the hotel extras count: a gym, a wellness centre with a sauna world, massages and a private sauna, and underground parking. I. P. Pavlova metro station is close by, one stop from the top of Wenceslas Square. Pets are allowed. If you will only make breakfast and the odd supper, a kitchenette studio is likely all you need.

6. Emporio Prague Apartments
Soukenická 6 · Nové Město, near Náměstí Republiky
Emporio Prague Apartments has rooms and apartments in the city centre, within easy reach of the Powder Tower, the Municipal House and the shopping centres nearby. It describes itself as suited to both short and long stays, and its current listings include standard and family apartments.
The location is handy for self-catering: shops are close for supply runs. Pets are welcome. Our information on the apartments themselves is thinner than for the others here, so ask for the floor plan and kitchen details before committing to a long stay.

7. Lovely Prague Apartments
Truhlářská 23 · Nové Město, Praha 1 · 4-star
Lovely Prague Apartments rents fully furnished design apartments in the centre for both short and long-term stays, which makes it the most straightforward pick here if you are staying a month or more. Units come with a kitchenette and a living room, the property is family-friendly, and pets are allowed.
Truhlářská is a quiet street at the entrance to the Old Town, close to where the King’s Road, the old coronation route to the Castle, begins, with galleries, shops and restaurants nearby. On a long rental, ask how often the apartment is cleaned and the linen changed.

Practical tips
- Ask what “kitchenette” means. It can be two hobs and a microwave or a proper kitchen with an oven and dishwasher. If you plan to cook, ask for the equipment list, and whether there is a washing machine.
- Confirm reception hours. Smaller apartment houses may not staff the desk around the clock, so give your arrival time and ask how late check-in works.
- Budget for the city tax. Prague charges a local accommodation fee per person per night. Check whether it is included in the price you are quoted.
- Ask for a long-stay rate. For a week or more, contact the property directly and ask about weekly or monthly prices.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an aparthotel and a serviced apartment?
An aparthotel runs like a hotel, with a reception and sometimes breakfast, but the units are apartments. A serviced apartment is closer to a rented flat with cleaning included. In Prague the line is blurred: Appia Hotel Residences serves breakfast in its historical hall, while Lovely Prague Apartments rents units for long-term stays.
Do Prague aparthotels have kitchens?
Many do, but not every unit. Kitchenettes are confirmed in the studios at EA Aparthotel Melantrich and Mamaison Residence Downtown, and in the apartments at Lovely Prague Apartments. Elsewhere, ask before booking.
Which is best for a family of five or six?
EA Aparthotel Melantrich has apartments that sleep up to six, and Aparthotel Davids has two-room apartments for three to five people. Appia Hotel Residences averages three beds per unit, so ask about larger layouts there too.
Can I bring my dog?
Almandine, Mamaison, Emporio and Lovely Prague Apartments all accept pets according to our information, while EA Aparthotel Melantrich does not. Fees and size limits vary, so confirm when you book.
Which area is best for a longer stay?
Nové Město is the practical choice, with metro stations, shops and supermarkets close by. Staré Město and Malá Strana are prettier but busier with visitors.
