Ask people who live in Prague which month they would choose and many say September. The summer heat has gone but the warmth has not; the crowds drop noticeably after the first week; the light turns golden and low. The cultural season restarts with the Dvořák Prague festival, and the beer gardens stay open through the warm evenings.

Photography in September
Arguably the best month of the year to shoot in Prague. Low golden light, comfortable temperatures, and far fewer people in the background of every frame. Golden hour is around 18:30, which suits both families and couples.
For family and couple sessions in September, a local photographer will know which spots hold the light at that hour — Kemal Onur Ozman shoots families, couples and engagements across Prague and took many of the photographs on this site.
Practical tips for September
- The first week is still busy; from the second it drops off sharply.
- Evenings cool quickly — bring a jacket.
- 28 September is a holiday; check opening hours.
